And They Sinned is FINISHED!!!

About time! Right!?!

I finished it up Friday evening.

I have never underestimated a piece as much as I did this one! I thought it would be done by Thanksgiving, Wrong! I thought it would be done by Christmas. Wrong! I thought I would finish it up in the days just after Christmas. Wrong. I thought for sure, it would be finished in January. Wrong!

Well I am glad it is finally done!

Here is a picture of my husband holding it up.

And They Sinned

I have no idea when I will get around to framing this one, so for now it will have to go into the box.

I want to thank all of you for your words of encouragement on this one! I appreciated every one of them!

I needed a change of pace for my next project. I chose The Tulip Patch from Barrack Samplers. I love the Arts and Crafts styling of it, and, and very importantly, it has no grass in it! None at all!

I am stitching it on 40 count cream linen. I was disappointed that I could not find the called for, Antique Cotton in 40ct. This will have to do. I am afraid it might look too whitish in the cream, but what can you do? I am stitching it with Needlepoint Silks.

I made a small start:

I also started knitting a sweater. It has been decades since I knitted anything, so I wanted to start with something very simple. I chose the Neckdown Cardigan from Knitting Pure & Simple.

It got good reviews on Ravelry, so I decided to give it a try. I am knitting with Bartlett yarns from Maine. I haven't gotten very far yet, but this is where I am:

Hopefully it will look like a sweater when it is done! It's been a long time. Hope I get it right!

Happy stitching everyone!

Congratulations on a superb finish. This will look splendid framed and hung in your home, it would be a shame to leave it too long in a box.

I really like your new project which is one I haven't seen before.

Huge congratulations! ATS is gorgeous!!!! You must be thrilled! Love your new start -- I actually think the whiteness will compliment the design very well, but that's me. :D You have to decide how you like it. Love that yarn for the sweater. Such a pretty color!

Beautiful finish. I hope it doesn't stay in the box for too long, an accomplishment like that needs to be admired. I really like the new design, I haven't seen that one before and may have to go hunting. Very pretty yarn color. I have so much knitting waiting for me - I really could use a few more hours in the day (or to be cloned)

Congratulations on the ATS finish! Please rush to the framers with it, so you can continue to enjoy it. As soon as I saw the Tulip Patch, I immediately thought William Morris and those lovely Arts and Crafts designs. Super finish and super starts!

That is a phenomenal finish ... you should be very proud. Isn't it curious how we stitchers can deceive ourselves. Optimism is a wonderful thing but not a reliable guage of "finishing". I fall prey to the same quirk all the time. {I thought my Tracery Dragons was going to be done in Sept. 2011 and I am still working on it!] I love your new starts. Anything by Barrick Samplars is bound to be lovely and, as a confirmed knitter wanna be, I look forward to your progress on the sweater. Beautiful color, by the way!
