I love the deep, rich colors!
I am stitching it on 40 ct Zweigart in Sand, using the suggested overdyed cotton floss.
This is what I have so far:
Also I have my first installment of the Totally Useless Stitch-a-long (TUSAL), hosted by It's Daffycat.
Not much to show, however in my defense, I am stitching on 40ct, so it is only 1 strand over 2 stitches.
I have been reading with great interest about the Crazy January Challenge. I am amazed how many people are organized enough to do this!
This is definitely not for me! A few years ago, I resolved to finish what I start. This policy has held me in good stead! For the most part I have stuck to this with a few notable exceptions (large quilts and the Loara Standish sampler, which require a lot of concentration). I hear the UFOs nagging at me, and it just bugs me too much! In fact, I don't even decide what I am going to do next until I am very close to finishing the one I am working on. Then it is just whatever appeals to me at the moment. This keeps it fun and fresh for me.
I really admire people who are successful at this! Also it makes for great blog reading! I love to see all your pictures!

What a wonderful start for the New Year! Like you I dont' like to have a million projects on the go. I stress out when I have too many unfinished projects not getting any attention.
I like your new start - it'll be pretty when it's done.
You ORT jar looks great.
I didn't join the January Challenge either - I've got enough partially started projects floating around here already, I don't need to add more. I decided instead to pick out 15 things that are in progress and work my way through them as best I can this year! A much less crazy challenge!
You jumped right into this new start and you've got a lot done. It's a great design and you chose the perfect fabric for it.
Congratualtions on finishing 'Tis the Season! What a great quilt this is.
Wishing you another year filled with lots of stitches!
You've made a great start on your new project. I must admit to having more than a few WIPs but this year I am going to try my best to finish as many as I can. I agree though, it is a fun seeing so many bloggers taking part in the challenge
Gorgeous new start! If the UFO's are nagging you and you're on Facebook, there's a "Crazy 2011 Challenge" that's entirely based on working and attempting to complete your UFOs (I have a link on my journal if you want). I've joined that one - I definitely do NOT need 15 new starts this year!
Happy stitching from a fellow TUSAL'er.
Awesome ORTs, Erica!
I don't know anyone could stand having all those WIPs started at once. Takes all sorts, I guess!
Erica, I had to laugh out loud when I read your comment about the Crazy January Challenge. My own 2011 challenge will be to find all my UFOs! Like you, though, I love all the blogs and photos from all the others out there. Happy New Year and happy finishes!
Great start on the ORTS.
I liked the idea of the January thing but I didn't hear about it until a few days in. I think first I need to find my UFO's. The reason I liked the Crazy January is having projects kitted that I haven't started or might need a few more things.
Also, I stitch and stitch but everything piles up and nothing is finished! I have lovely done pieces not framed or made into pillows or whatever needs to happen to them!
Great Start !!!
Hope 2011 is blessed for you and your family !!
beautiful project, love the colors.
